Is it okay to miss a workout?
šMissed a workout? Don't panic! Remember, your body is resilient and missing a single workout won't set you back.
However, it's important to note that this could shake your motivation if not tackled promptly. That single skipped session can easily turn into a habit...leaving you feeling like you're starting from scratch.
Remember the wise old saying: "Staying on the wagon is easier than climbing back on." This certainly rings true when it comes to fitness and maintaining healthy habits.
šTo keep those one-off misses from derailing your fitness journey, consider the following:
1ļøā£ Understand why you missed the workout. Any underlying issues?
2ļøā£ Set meaningful goals that resonate with you, not what you think you should aim for.
3ļøā£ Discover activities you love or partner with a coach who can guide you.
4ļøā£ Show yourself some grace. Don't overthink or beat yourself up.
Just get back on track and start moving again!
How to Stay Motivated
Letās talk about ACCOUNTABILITY because a lot of people get it wrong.
Itās a shame because when done RIGHT, it can skyrocket your progressā¦
And even help you hit goals that you thought were out of your reach!
First: letās clear up a common misconception.
Accountability is NOT about setting high goals and then beating yourself up for not reaching them.
Instead, itās about owning your power to make a positive difference in your health and fitness!
Having an accountability planā¦
Helps you stay consistent because you know youāve got a check-in coming soon
Keeps you motivated, because the results keep coming when youāre consistent ā and we all know thereās nothing more motivating than results!
Helps you focus on whatās working and what needs adjusting
Here are a few ways to add accountability to your routine:
Reverse engineer your SMART goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-sensitive) with the actions you need to take to get there ā and do it at a pace that fits your schedule, lifestyle, AND your current skill set/fitness level!
Find an accountability partner. Buddying up with a friend, family member, or coworker who shares similar goals can dramatically increase your likelihood of success.
Keep a journal. Writing (or typing) about your journey does more than help you track your progress. It can help you understand your patterns, motivations, triggers, and successes.
Or, invest in a coaching program like we offer at our BCS Fitness studios.
Together, weāll create a plan thatās realistic, flexible, and ā most importantly ā effective in helping you achieve your health and fitness goals.
Oh, and of course we will hold you accountable every step of the way.
If youāve never invested in a coaching program before, we know it can feel like a big step. But think of it this way: you can either spend more time doing what youāve been doing, OR you can try a new approach thatās proven to work (and has for over 21 years locally in Bryan/College Station).

This makes things way easierā¦
š² Hate to break it to you, but there are some things you HAVE to do every dayā¦
Things like brushing your teeth, making the bed, going to work, cooking meals, loading the dishwasher, taking out the trash, etc.
Yes, you *can* miss a day or two. But go too long and things can get uncomfortable⦠fast! šµāš«
Itās the same thing with your health.
If you want to look, move, and feel your best...you have to dedicate 60-90 minutes a week (minimum) to your fitness.
š§ Doing a little bit every day is a whole lot easier ā and a lot more attainable ā than trying to do it all at once.
Even if it's as simple as putting your gym bag next to the door at night so you will be more likely to work out the next day...youāre taking a step in the right direction!
"I donāt really like the gym atmosphere, so I searched for something different. BCS Fitness is this place. 30-minute workouts 3 times a week in a small group is perfect.

I get the strength and conditioning my body needs and has been missing and I donāt have to think about the workout.
